132 N 5 Resident Party ?

I have read this today and have heard other people offer a suggestion of building party so the people in the building can meet people in the building. I think it’s a great idea! Any thoughts or dates etc. ……

sounds like a great idea,

on a side note, do you think you could set up posting privileges for us?

Here for now. said...

Sure no problem –
I am new to blogging. It is asking me to ”enter the email addresses of people you want to write to your blog (separated by commas)” You can send it to the blog email and I will add you . If you know of another way let me know.

How's next Wednesday for the Building BBQ/Party? Since it's summer or starting to be, I feel a lot of people (including myself) have weekend trips planned. I would love to meet everyone and most people are around on weekdays, no?

We have a grill in our apt, but not a very big one so if anyone has a big grill and wants to BBQ, I'm down.

Also, this blog could be really good for a number of things, like taking care of pets, or other people getting your packages if you know you won't be home. I know that's really trustworthy, but it could work.

Also, nyc has been lacking the neighborly vibe the past few years, and it shouldn't take another blackout to get that back. Although that was pretty fun.

This is a much better way to go about it.

Take care. Hope to meet you all next week, or sooner:)

Awesome idea with the packages and pets!

I dunno about weekdays. I feel like a saturday thing would be ideal. What does everyone else think?

I think we are the first building to have our own blog.

My friend's building has their own google group. Close enough.

Kudos on the blog.

My DJ buddy is going to set up on the roof at 10 pm on Wednesday for the first weekly 132 Resident Rager. I'll put in a request for "The Roof is on Fire."

Seriously, a neighborly soiree is a great idea. Like someone else said, my summer weekends are pretty booked with all sorts of fun crap. I agree that a school night from 7 to 10 would work (come late and/or leave early if you need to). We just need to shut it down at 10 (the good news is that there are a couple of bars within walking distance).

I also think the idea is to chill and get to know people a little (school night chilling) rather than getting all fucked up and puke on each other (weekend raging). We should at least wait until the second or third time we all meet to play that card...and then clean it all up of course...

If I catch someone doing that graffiti I'm going to give them dirty looks and say bad things about their parents...

Finally, this blog is a good idea but it will be useless if turns into a bitching post about noise, graffiti, and trash. Keep it positive. Stay classy. Whale's Vagina!

i'm down for next wednesday AND saturday. i'll bring bbq fixings to which ever day we settle on.

when we meet, let's setup a beautification date and clean up that damn graffiti. i just talked to abraham about the graffiti and he said David would be happy to supply the paint if we were willing to help out.

Word Im down for Wednesday and Saturday.

Lg what kinda of set up is your friend bringing? Maybe I can throw a few records down. I have a sound system and turntables we can set up if needed too.

Here for now. said...

Unfortunately – I can’t make this Wednesday – not a good reason not to have it though. Also, I am uncertain as to set the definite date & coordinate and so on.

Is that a set up time of 10? or a shut down time? In the interest of making friends, can we do it like 8-10 or 11? Last Wednesday's party was too loud, too late. Sorry.

The DJ thing was a joke. I was being ironical.

I think we should have the social on next Friday. Weekends are much easier, everyone is so busy during the week. I also suggest we make it a simple cocktail party, like around 7 pm then if people have other obligations later that night they can still go. We should just keep it simple. Although of course anyone can make a night out of it and do what they wish, I just dont want to see this great idea get to complicated. And we can also plan for a second meet and greet because everyone will not be able to make it. So I suggest next Friday! Whos with me?

You know what I'm worried about?
This is a public blog so there is a very good chance that non-residents of 132 will be able to access all the info that is being exchanged here and just pop up whenever there's a party on the roof.

It's possible but not sure if people have time to monitor this blog who dont live in the building and want to crash every party, but hey you never know. Also this blog does not come up in an internet search and only people in the building know about it so far...should be ok. Plus who will let them in, if no one knows who they are why buzz them in. I dont think this blog can do anymore harm then there already is, it will bring us all closer and I think the building will be safer because we can post any issues/notifications/concerns on here.
